With Fall just around the corner what a wonderful time to think about Halloween wedding ideas. Whether you want to just add a touch of fun with pumpkins, or you want to walk down the aisle dressed as the bride of Dracula. We have stirred up some spooktacular treats for you. First you will want to decide if your Fall wedding needs just a touch of Autumn or if you would like a Halloween theme and to have your guests in costume for your big day.
A classic Fall wedding can have decorations that remind us of Halloween. Try adding pumpkins, burlap, fall leaves, orange & black colors (streamers) or go with a stunning black & purple motif with silver accents.
If you want to go with more of a Halloween theme think vampires, Gothic, steam punk, day of the dead with sugar skulls, nightmare before Christmas, zombies, pirates, masquerade or maybe you would just like to dress up like your favorite fantasy or movie characters.
Halloween Wedding Gowns
What would a Halloween wedding be without the perfect wedding gown. Look for gowns with black lace accents and Gothic styling to add an elegant touch. Adding colors like red or purple are perfectly acceptable for a Halloween wedding. Here are some of our favorite picks for ghoulishly delightful wedding gowns!

Halloween Wedding Food
Halloween wedding food should be fun and fit the theme you picked out for your day. You can never go wrong with the food that is so bountiful during the Autumn months. Think caramel apple martinis, leaf shaped cookies, pumpkin pie or cheesecake, roasted nuts, popcorn, butternut & acorn squash with honey & cinnamon, spice cake balls, homemade root beer or a hot chocolate bar.
If you’re having a spooky theme try spider cupcakes, finger foods (really food that looks like fingers), mummy hot dogs, meringue ghosts and dry ice for the drinks . Here is a fantastic recipe for “Adams Scary Apples”
Halloween Wedding Cakes
The wedding cake can take a cue from fall or Halloween. This cake came complete with a zombie bridal couple for the cake topper. You can make your own zombie cake topper like we did for this wedding. Pick out any cake topper that you like and use different acrylic paints to make your cake topper look spooky. Use a paint brush and then your fingers to rub the paint into the figurine. You don’t even need to know how to paint to do this because you want your cake topper to look messy. So just add the paint and have fun with it. Don’t forget to add some red for the perfect ghoulish finishing touch.
Halloween Wedding Cake Toppers
If you don’t have time to make your own cake topper we’ve found a great collection of Halloween cake toppers that you can chose from. Click on the images to purchase.
Everyone loves to dress up. Well, okay almost everyone. Be sure to let guests know if there is a theme, like steam punk, so they can join in the fun and have plenty of time to come up with costumes. The following images were taken at my brother’s Halloween wedding. The theme was Halloween. The guests loved dressing up for it and it was fun seeing all the unique costumes. Letting your guests dress up for your wedding day in costume also makes them feel more a part of your big day.
